Day at Royal Melbourne ...

Yesterday , I had a long day out . I woke at in the morning to wash my clothes because Nicole asked me out to go to the Royal Melbourne Show . From the name , can you all guess what it is ? Well , it is something like a fun fair ! 

First , we head to the animal section . Do note that the pictures are not in order .

I won a panda through this game with just $5 AUD . All you have to do is to purchase 4 tickets for $10 . Nicole and I split between each other . Just match the tickets with the poster and you can win any soft toy . Each ticket have 5 chances . When I was playing this game , I open the ticket slowly and matched the number on the poster . It was the 9th time when I open the ticket and realized I had won ! I checked my ticket with the poster many times before going to the person . When I won , I ran to Nicole and said I won and asked what should I pick , panda or duck , she was shocked . In the end I choose panda, I don't know why . The second time I spend $10 to play . I didn't win anything .

Seriously , this game I don't really know how to win . The first time Nicole play and did not win anything , then the person offer us some lousy gift and said , if you play the second time , we'll give any a soft toy . I felt bad because I won a panda and she did not win anything . So I play the second time and got a soft toy . Then Nicole want a dog .

This game is just pull the strings and have to try to aim for the big pooh and come up . End up its all small stuff . So the person gave us a lousy gift and said if we play the second time , we'll get a winnie the pooh soft toy . So we had to play the second time to get a winnie the pooh soft toy .

The above are all the soft toys that can from the show . We originally intend to just get the show bag ( Its like a goodie bag ) , but we ended up spending money on games . The panda and pooh is mine .

We played till we had forgotten the time . We had to go for a musical later on . We had to go back to my hostel and put the soft toys down especially the panda  ! Luckily , the people don't mind waiting for us . 

The musical was fun , but I had too much fun in the afternoon and was super exhausted so couldn't enjoy it 100 % . My cousin asked me to go for the musical by planet shakers uni ( something like that ) .

All for today ... off to watch F1 !! F1 is in Singapore !  Next week is Singapore day le !

Another week passed ...

Another week passed ...

Dear all , I have kept one third of my promise , I had 3 desserts today but only remember to take one picture . OS : DANG ! 

Yea , today was the first time I brought cooked dinner to school ! I used the school's microwave oven and realized its kinda of dirty . But I need to heat my food up , so no choice I have to use it . Then we head to library to eat it .  

Then meet our project mates for project . Felt a little guilty because the project mate did stuff before meeting us but I went there with nothing . I will be more prepared the next time !

After that , I wanted to eat Mango Cheesecake from Gloria Jeans but they closed already . So Nicole bought me to another cake shop to have cake . Its Crown something , not Crown Hotel , I had my cake . I like it a lot because the taste is not too heavy . But too bad , its so small that I didn't feel like I had anything .

Then , we head to Chinatown for desserts . Below is a picture of the dessert we had . Can you guess what we had ? 

 

Its yam sago ! Hahas , I had the hot one and Nicole had the cold one . I stop her from eating because I forgot to take picture ! Yes , the milk tea is mine . Its hard to get a decent milk tea and since I pop into this shop . I won't waste any chances of drinking hot milk tea !

Then after that Nicole head back to my hostel to copy drama from my laptop . Then she waited till I finish my quiz . Then I wanted to get ice-cream . Hahas ... then she went there with me and got tempted and also ate the ice-cream . Then my sister called me , then I rushed home .

Last Monday I got my exam's dates . Grrr , I end at the LAST day ! 

Sorry for the short post . I am tired . Got to sleep le ... Bye ...

Dear all ... when I am counting down to Singapore day . I don't mean the day that I am coming back to Singapore in X week time. Let me explain to you ...

Singapore Day is organize by Overseas Singapore Union for Singaporeans who are at oversea . On this day , there will be many local food ( I am not sure whether it is for sale or for free . ) Also on that day , there will be performance from our local actor and actress . 

I consider myself quite lucky because I have just arrived in Melbourne and Singapore will be held at Melbourne and not other part of Australia ! Last year , Singapore Day was held at New york !

Ooooops

Hehe ... big apologies to all readers . Just now I was too anxious to eat my dessert that I forgot to take a picture of it ! I promised I will try to take pictures and post it here the next time . So for this blog post , please use your imagination . 

Ever since I have Nicole as a friend , I started eating desserts ! I used to eat desserts randomly .  Now , I will eat it every Friday ! Friday is a day where we both are very relax ! All the test are gone , everything can wait . As usual , Friday , I will start stocking up for my weekends and my following week . Nicole likes to tease me , for buying so much stuff and it was always be on Friday . 

So before heading to Lygon street , walking from Swanston street , we will head to my hostel first to put down all the stuff that I bought from the supermarket because my hostel lies in between on Swanston and Lygon Street . Then we head to Lygon street for desserts . The last time was ice-cream . This time is cakes ! Nicole had Baci Choc while I had tiramisu . Nicole forbid me to eat cheesecake , she says must try new stuff . Grrr ... ROAR !  But I like it ! Luckily it was a small slice and so I am able to finish it . Time flys as usual we chatted till close to 12 am . Ooops , recently my mum is getting more and more worry , but she could guess that I am with Nicole and I always phone her when I reach my hostel to make her feel ease .

On Tuesday , my cousin came to my hostel . Finally , after like one month ? I asked if she wants lunch because I am cooking mine , she said ok .  So I quickly cooked something . I am glad she enjoys it . " Uh ? What can you cook ? " , I know you all will be thinking about this . Well , its the usual boiled vegetables ( broccoli and xiao bai cai) and my Lee Kum Kee and also I bought finger food like crab meat and hot dog . I told my mum and sister but my sister splash cold water on me , she said , " Nothing will go wrong with vegetables and Lee Kum Kee , then I said , E-lyn said the hot dog is nice , then my sis said , nothing will go wrong with hot dog . " 

Then after my lesson , we went out for Dim Sum . I was expecting it to be good because I went there for dumplings and noodles and it was great . End up it was not even tasty ! I felt a little embarrasses because it wasn't great . Everything is about the same in terms of the fillings and the outer covering , just that the shape is different . 

These few weeks , most of my poly friends are going to NS , first is fake bro , then is fake sis ... All the best to them ...

Counting down ... 2 more weeks to Singapore day ...

A week and ME ..

 A week and ME ... 

Hmmm , I keep thinking what should I update today . I don't feel good because my big auntie come knocking on my door unexpectedly . She is giving me headaches . Nevertheless , I will try to blog by tonight because I want to study tomorrow ...

Today , I start off my day with a little breakfast , 3 biscuits and a cup of MilX and start cleaning my room . Then Nicole message me to remind me about our " date " . I am glad she manage to wake up despite she slept late last night . When I finish with my laundry , I realized it was  time for our appointment , I quickly message her to explain to her that I will be late . And off I went to bath .

I officially reached the market at 2.40 pm and head off to do our grocery shopping . A tip to save money when you are doing grocery shopping , go around closing time , like 30-45 minutes before the closing time .  Its AustraliX stuff , everything is grown here , so don't bother about going early for freshness . When you go to the market during close to closing time . Most of the things are slashed to 50% off for meat and $1 for vegetables . 

For example ; broccoli , normally its $3-$2.50 per kg . But when you go during the close to closing time , it becomes $1 - $1.50 per kg . Sometimes the vendor wants to sell those vegetables placed outside for display , the price will drop from $2 per kg to $1 per box . The price different is so big .     

After that , we went to Asian grocery shop because Nicole wanted to get some more stuff . The things there are cheap because they are imported from asian countries . But strangely , I never see any of the brands there before . They even have their own brand for coke or soda drinks . Things there are freaky cheap . It is much much much cheaper than the supermarket . I went there with no intention to get anything but end up buying mangoes and hot dogs .

Then we headed home . After resting at home for awhile , I head out to the main street to get the rest of the stuff that I need . First , I head out to Chinatown to shop for a letter pad . Yes , I have to head to Chinatown . People here have those letter pad that are no different than the foolscap paper , just that it doesn't have holes . I went out at 5 pm and was lucky that the shop is still open . I was so glad that I manage to shop some decent letter pad . 

Then , I head to the asian grocery shop to buy crab stick . I was so glad they imported another brand of crab stick and its cheaper than the ones in Singapore . Then back to central to do some grocery shopping like looking out for honey mustard sauce . Surprising , it was hard to find . I had to go to another supermarket to look for it . Actually , I asked the staff and she helped it with it . And there was only one brand for honey mustard . 

As for today's dinner , I had subway melt . I regret having carrots and onions in it . I had it with the meal and today's is the first time I truly enjoyed the double choc chips . 

Yesterday , something not nice happened to me . But Nicole was there to cheer me up . She also had something not nice happened to her . We chat and had fun . First we went for dinner . On thursday , I choose what to have and so , I made her choose what she wanted . She was always accommodating me .

And we stop at a little taiwan shop for a meal . Mine was average but Nicole truly enjoyed her Hananiese chicken rice , she like the garlic and chicken rice . The shop was generous with their serving .  They gave me an almost full-filled bowl of noodles and a large chicken drumstick for Nicole and its only $7.50 AUD . 

Then we went around walking so that we could digest and suddenly , I was craving for ice-cream ! I wanted to have 50 cents Mac ice-cream but Nicole said having gelato is much  better . So from the main street , we walked to another street for gelato . Gelato is  ice-cream without cream so its fat free ! 

I had Green Apple and Mango ice-cream . Nicole had water melon ( yes , its water melon , they even had papaya ) and Mango . Then we head to the park and eat . Then we chatted till 11.45 pm then we head home . I really enjoyed the time  with her .  She was sharing about the stuff that happened to her during one of the road trips with friends . When I reached home to skype with my mum , she astonished how late I reached home . But glad that I had a friend , at least I am not lonely ...

On thursday , Nicole and I head to library . She missed the morning class and so she had to copy notes from me . As she was copying , I kept chanting about eating BBQ pork rice ! Then she was so tempted to eat with me . Then she asked me to lead her to the shop where I wanted to eat . When she looked at the BBQ pork , she said it is not fresh . So she brought me to another shop . 

When I looked at the menu , I feel like getting duck noodle ! Then , I couldn't make up my mind . End up , I had both , since either pork or duck rice is $8.50 . Both is $9.50 . So I ordered that combine one . I also ordered a apple milk shake ! 

The apple milk shake is nice ! As for the pork and duck rice , the pork is too hard but the duck is nice ! I also tried Nicole's sweet and sour pork rice . The pork was so tender  . Overall , its was alright . 

On Wednesday , my Mum told me that she had eaten a delicious moon cake , it was from Wing Wah . Then I told her , I also had that ! She was astonished to know that they also have it here . Sis went online and did a check . And I realized that it was a few dollars more expensive over here . So overall , I didn't overspend on a moon cake . Phew ! 

All for tonight , I am so tired but it feels good to have the room clean . Counting down to Singapore Day ... 3 more weeks ! Stay tuned for the next update ! Byeeee ...

Vic Road License and ME ...

Vic Road License and ME ... 

Dear all~ , I just got my Vic Road license today ... I woke up 8 am because I need to reach the place by 9am ! And I am expected to reach 10 minutes before the appointment time . And I also need 20 minutes to walk ! I quickly jump out of my bed , get dashed to the Vic road center because I wanted few months for this appointment . And if I missed it , I will have to pay money for missing my appointment .

When I arrived there , I was next in the queue . I kept thinking to myself , how lucky I was ! If I missed it , its either I have to wait very long or they make me go for the other appointment . There are some parts of the application form I couldn't filled up and so I waited for him to fill up for me and I just sign the form . 

Then after that , I was issused a Probation license ( P2 ) and was asked to make payment . I was kind of shock because I don't expect to pay for it . And it cost AUD $45.30 ! I was reluntant to pay . But after I surf the website , I realised that I am lucky because I need not pay for the appointment fee ! 

Then I also surf the net to check out the limitation of my P2 license . The driving conditions are stricter over here ! I can't accumulate more than 5 points over the period of 12 months . I can't drive cars that are more than 6 cylinders engines . This makes me think twice whether to drive or not over here in the city because cars and trams share the same road .

Hello~ people , are you all ready for a treat ? Hahas , you better be . Because I am uploading tones of pictures ! Yes , I had finally up my broadband usage . I always used the Internet till it exploded the data limit I had and end up paying more to the extend of hitting 3 digits every month when I only exceeded by a bit . Its so not fair !

Since now is my break , I shall spend a little more time blogging about what I had done in the past 6 weeks ~ 

After settling down for a night at the city , my dad and I went to my cousin's place to stay over for a few nights . On the first day at my cousin's house , my girl cousin recommended to go to Mount Dangelong for Pie and English tea . So armed with the address , GPS and my male cousin's car , we trio head there !

After eating the pie , we were so full and so we did a little walking . My girl cousin brought me to the doll house . She was glad that the doll house was opened because the last time she came , the doll house was closed .  So we took pictures of it . It was so big that I had to take one picture of each room . If you happen to visit this doll house , you will be amazed how detailed it was being made into .

After the stroll , we head to Miss Mufflers for some English tea . I was so into eating that I forgot to take the interior of the house . But I had taken the exterior of the house . 

Then its the pictures you all been waiting for ... pictures of my room ! When you first enter , you will remove your shoes at my shoe corner .

I had to put a sheet over my chair because it keeps shocking me with static electricity and its super painful .

After settling down , very soon it was my birthday . My cousins brought me out for dinner . I didn't bother to take any pictures expect for this one ... 

 

Then last Monday , my Hong Kong friend , Nicole and I , went to Crown for cakes ! The cakes were so big that it had became our lunch and we could not go for any buffet . After the cakes , Nicole made me walk ...

On Sunday , Nicole asked me out because she wanted to buy presents for her friends . So we went to Richmon . Then I realised , the Ikea is there ! We ate kid's meal fish and chips . She was so full and could not eat anymore . But I continue eating hot dog . Then we went to get some ingredients so that we can have hot pot at her house . We bought too much that we couldn't finish . We only manage to eat half of what we bought . The meat was so fresh and sweet !

My gradets and me ... 

As you all know , I had an Australia line so that I can save money calling home . I got this LG phone free as I will be tied to the plan for 2 years . It is a touch screen phone . At times it is testing my patience . I was pointing at the scroll bar and off it open another file . Message to my phone , " Right , you better watch out " . 

As I was looking out for this phone's review , it was said to be something like I-Phone . I said this to my real sister that my phone is I-Phone's twin . My sister said , more like distant cousins . Anyway , my sister got the I-phone . No, she didn't camp outside Singtel , she paid deposit on the first day of release and got it the second day . It makes the people queueing for it looked so stupid .

Its a 5 mega-pixel camera and this is the photo quality its produced .

As we all know , the Commex IT show had just ended . But I didn't miss it . Hahas , after chanting and chanting , my parents got me a digital camera ! Its sony T70 . Another touch screen gadet of mine. And yes , it is pink in color ! I was struggling between sliver and pink because I had sick and tired of black . Think its because facing my quilt for a long time .

I had not idea what camera I want , I just don't want it to be black . So my sister and my parents decided to get me this one . They said that T300 is too heavy . So they got me T70 . Then it was color time . When I called them , mum said pink , pink nice , so sweet , then I said ok . Then minutes later , I called them again and said , maybe silver . But mum said , pink la , pink very sweet . Sliver very 'song'(old fashion) . So I said ok lor . 

From they account , they queue one hour for my camera and my dad who got Canon did not queue for his . He is having the Canon IS-860 . He was so proud of his new camera , he even insert his battery to show it to me his large screen ! He is so happy when I am not very happy , I keep saying he is showing off .  My camera is still in Singapore , sis will bring over when she comes over , so till then , I will get to touch it .

Upcoming programs are , going to Vic Road to convert my Singapore driving license to a Victoria driving license . Then on 4th Oct , its Singapore day . Heading down with my Singaporean friend . 

All for now ... the next time I am updating maybe ... coming Saturday or Sunday about my Vic Road license but it will be a short one because I need to study test ...
