First week of school ...

As I am blogging now , I am munching away a bowl of cereal as my supper . I had a brunch at 4.30 pm . Before that I was taking a bus , then train back to Melbourne from my cousin's place . I thought I will fall asleep in the train because I feel that  I am not sleeping enough . Then I realized the view outside the train is good so I went on looking . 

Upon reaching my hostel , I went back to sleep . When I woke up , I received an message from my sister asking whether I want to skype not . Hahas , I super duper happy and went to skype . I kept wanting to talk to them but Mum asked me to go wash my clothes . Hahas . I don't feel like doing it because I am LAZY . After skyping with them , I did my laundry . It took me 2 hours to do it .

After that , I went on shopping for the necessity like bread , body foam . I realized that ever since I lived alone , I am more caution of the way I spend money . I always look out for cheaper stuff . Pushing the trolley to and fro to find a cheaper stuff . My family members find me more and more ' Aunty ' .

My first week of school is average . My year 2 lecturers are not very nice people . But my year 1 lecturers are nice . Oh ya , I forgot to explain myself . I am now a year 1 student taking some year 2 modules because I got exemptions . My time-table is messy and I have lesson everyday .I even had to miss a lecture because my time-table is too packed . Luckily , the lecturer still allows me to take test as per normal . I tried to make time to cook because eating in Australia is expensive. 1 meal at food court is $10 . That's why when I eat out I always combine meals to make it more worthwhile .

This year , my 21st birthday celebration is so tone down . My family celebrated over skype for me . Then my cousins brought me out last thursday to Crown hotel for buffet . $20AUD per head . Its consider cheap for buffet , let me remind you again , a meal at food court is $10AUD . Then we explored Crown hotel . Its the best in Melbourne . It had also boutiques like LXXis VXXton , BXXBXXXX , PXXXX and some other . It has also very nice cakes . But, many people go there for its Casino. Its a 2 level casino . Playing jackpot can be as low as 1 cent per try . Many retirees hang out there . I enjoyed myself on that day . I am always at the city . Its nice to explore the other side of melbourne .

Yesterday , I went to watch movie,'The dark night' at the suburb area with my cousins and cousins' friends . By the way, its expensive to watch movie in melbourne . The cheapest movie tickets you can get its $11 AUD . It was a nice movie , the person acted the JOKER was real good . The BATMAN acted well too . Overall , I liked the story . I stayed over at my cousin's house for a night and headed back to my hostel the next morning .

A little updated for u all before I chiong to bed . I am finally alone in my hostel . Previously , my dad was always with me . Today was about making choices , to soak the clothes to day or soak them tomorrow . I decided to do it today . To wash the floor today or wash it tomorrow . I decided to wash it tomorrow . How to go about it , tomorrow I will decide bah ... 

As for now , its not exactly quiet , most probably , the walls are thin so when my neighbours make noise or make a cup of drink , I can hear them . I guess my electric bills will explode , I had ' on ' to heaters . Its cosy but I had to switched them off soon ...

Dear all ... this is one of the few chances I may be blogging to you all because in Melbourne , they charged by how many data been send . I am able to update some of the things here  ...

Firstly , I am able to land safely in Melbourne . The food that I brought over like , Maggie Mee , Mee Gorenge , biscuits , sweets , butter biscuits , cup noodles and Milo . It all went through expect for the cup noodles because it contains egg and chicken . The rest all went through . I was lucky because the Milo were from Singapore , and so it also went through . The custom people were nice , they were friendly . Not as strict as thought . 

Initially , the custom officer wanted to dig out the chicken and egg from the cup noodle but I think its too troublesome and so I decided to get it be disposed . For those who wants to earn big bucks , can work at XXXbourne custom , help to dispose stuff . Because those Xhina like to bring their herbs in , and so often got stuck in the custom . You can try to send it over to Singapore and sold them away . Hahahahas ...

Next is my hostel , I am staying in Unilodge On Campus , you are surf for the pictures online , but my room is super small . I belong to the standard studio with air-con category . My room is like a little more than the than a quarter of the classrooms . But good thing is there is no communal toilet or kitchen .

I will also be getting a handphone next week after I receive my ATM card so I will mass email the handphone no. with you all . 

As for my hostel pictures , wait till I unpacked and everything is nice , I will take pictures and show it to you all . Please don't expect a bath tube . I am quite lucky because everything is quite new . 

Food here , average $10 aust per person . Please don't go to the food court for dinner , portion small , food exp . At Aust Chinatown , its $8 aust , is 4 small soup bowl of fried rice . But in food court , its like our Singapore food court portion but at $10 aust . If you want to try Australian  food , it will be fast food .

Those who are coming over to Melbourne , please let me know , so that you can buy Maggie mee for me . Maggie Mee here are sold at $1.85 aust dollar per small packet . Maggie Mee is allow in Australia , please declare all food items when you enter .

All the details , you people wanted to know ...

The most important thing , the VISA , its been approved . So I am able to stay in Melbourne till 2012 . It was approved on the 10th July ; A day after my enrolment . When I meet my fave 38s on Wednesday for dinner and dance , I was like , " Hey , today is the 9th and I am still in Singapore ! "

Next , my flight details : Dear all , no A380 for me ... sob sob . I will be departing on the 14th July , flight no. : SQ 237 , at terminal 3 , time of flight is 23:35 . Expected time to reach airport will be maybe 9:35 pm . I might be there earlier for last dinner in Singapore .

Upon arrival , I will check-in into the hotel , currently I don't have hostel to stay . So , upon arrival , I will be quite busy . I will try to sms or leave word on the blog that I have reached Australia safely .

Things that I have to do upon arrival other then check-in hotel is get myself enroll in school , look for hostel , open bank account , buy textbooks and checkout the area so that I know where to buy stuff /food . Look out for pharmacy and clinic .

As recommended by Evan , I shall get the pre-paid phone card . I will mass email you people the number I am using . No worries , the Singapore handphone line , I will be still holding on to it . I don't think many people know that I am off to Austrailia for studies .

I had packed 80% of my stuff . 20% not packed yet because there is no more space . Trying to figure out something ... If possible , I will bring along ... Hahas , nothing is impossible !

Less than 3 days in Singapore , to be honest , I am not very excited to go there so early . But no choice , dad had work to do . So he will have to get me settle down and so he can return to Singapore and prepare his next trip to Maldive .

The ultimate purpose of going to Australia is to study and get a degree back . Other than that , I hope to be more independent , learn to do housework like cooking and washing clothes and be more sociable .

All for now regarding my study trip to Melbourne ...

Last Wednesday was my last visit to Zouk ... Gosh , the place I am going to miss . When we reached there , around 11 pm , already long queue . Cannot enter Phuture , so sad , its RnB lor . So when to Zouk instead , mambo night . The 3 of us ( Evan , Val and I ) were seriously out of place . The regulars were so happening because the competition had just over . We went for a drink , it got better . But the music really can't make it , everyone ( not only us ) stand there stone for 2 songs and we decided to leave . Pictures with Evan , when she send I will upload .

Then last night was my last visit to K-box . Secondary school friends and I had arrange to meet at 7 plus and I arrived at 10 ! I packed my stuff till I forget the time . I also have to had dinner with my family because it had been longed since I last had dinner with them . Hahas , manage to sing all I wanted . Sang 'dao dai by jolin' twice without A/D . So happy ! Super thank for letting to ' ba zai ' the mike since I arrive ...

Today , Jie treated bro and I to a Thai dinner meal at Bukit Timah . Those we know its near ' My Wife's Place ' . Its call ' Vis-a-Vis ' . Mum gave it a miss because she wanted to watch the 7pm chn U show ! So we went ahead as Jie had program at night . It was scary , the 3 of us ate 4 dishes . When the 3rd dish was served , we asked for rice-refill . The waiter keep remaining us about our 4th dish while refilling the rice for us . The the climax was the dessert . We ordered 3 different kinds , two of it was Thai dessert and the other was French dessert . After finishing the dessert , I turned my head and realised that a couple is sharing the French dessert we just had . Then I told my sister and we came out with the conclusion that we had scared the waiters there with our enormous appetite . Hahas ... The scariest part was the bill , we trio chalked up a bill of $XXX.XX .

Remember the last post I wrote . I think now is the time to reveal . So everyone please take in a big breath . One , two , three .... I am going to Australia to study . Ya , I hereby apologise for such a late announcement .


It took me quite a long time to arrange it because everything is so late minute . Even close friends of mine were also grumbling about the short notice . But I had no choice . I am afraid to announce something that might not happen .


Current details of on me going Australia :


Departing on the 15th July 2008
Living in Melbourne ; RMIT old village /Unilodge Campus ( Not Comfirm yet ) ... its a hostel
Studying in Melbourne ; RMIT University , Bachelor in Engineering ( Mechanical Engineering ) Course of study is 3 and half years
Hopefully , I will be back before 31 Dec 2011


Things I had done :

-Propose plan like Time Line , packing cum shopping list , things to do upon arrival
-Eat all the food I might had no chance to eat in Melbourne like steak , laska and etc .
-Bought all the things that are expensive there like stationary


Things not done :


-Learn how to wash clothes
**Don't intend to learn how to cook because I think I will eat boiled vegetables and rice everyday )


The unsettle stuff are like visa and hostel ... I believe my visa will be ready by this Friday . And hostel side , the people are trying to do something for me ...


Many people who come to know that I am going to Melbourne asked me how I feel , my very first thought was , " Unwilling to leave my comfort zone " . But come to thing of it , it is also an opportunity to grow as a person , I should had been independent since long but I am not currently . Most importantly , a degree is essential in today's society . Many looked forward for a new me , hope I will not disappoint you all .


Will update more accurate information like flight details , what is my extact address in Australia and etc next week .

Last Friday night , I had Mahjong sessions with my Hwee Jing , Cindy and Patricia . The gambling den is at Patricia's house . Seek lessons from Patricia's mum regarding how to count 'Tai' . Initially I didn't win , then subsequently I won a little . I don't know whether I win or lose because I just took out my coins and had start gambling . Then Had fun till 5am ... wooooo~ Then we head to Bukit PXnjXng Plaza MacDonald for breakfast ... Bye bye Mahjong ... no chance to touch you le ...


The coming programs are chopping off my hair , packing my stuff into luggage , shopping , singing K , XXXXbling , taking family pictures and having to eat a good steak !


Currently what's been catching my attention is the battle between two well-known bloggers . I will not type their name out else I might get sue . Hahas~ I shall start with the one who started it . X started writing the blog about D because people start having doubts whether she and D are good friends . D in turn took it very seriously and wanted to sue X . Then X apologise , but D's manager not satisfied . X hot le , start mass publishing D's sandals and did not want to apologise to D anymore . But strangely , D's post was accepting X's apology .

Initially , I was wondering who will ultimately be the one who could last . End up X remove all the post . But I strongly believe D had plastic surgery and also someone not truthful . For X , the normal style , says what she like . X's selling point is dare to say . The best part was Sg people reactions , some super pro-X , some super anti-X . For those anti-X , the best part is they kept arguing their point on X's remarks , I find them either stupid or attention seeking . Its like going to gay club and tell people not to be gay . Some overseas' readers generalise about Sg girls thinking that we are like her ...
